Khuda kay Liye...."It's still we vs them.."

Happened to come across critically acclaimed and money churner Pakistani movie 'Khuda kay Liye'. First things first. It is no doubt a wonderful movie from Pakistan’s perspective. I always thought that all they know about making movies is ripping Indian movies, putting a little flavour of extremism in it and the ritual Allah hoos…
Surprisingly this movie is mint fresh. Made by famous Pakistani ad maker Shoaib Mansoor, the film deals with Islamic sensitivities, how youth is attracted to (or distracted from) fundamentalism, racial discrimination in USA, its double standards on Osama bin laden and most importantly hope and future that lies ahead. The movie has been made in collaboration of Indian, Pakistani and USA film makers and Artists. Our very own Naseeruddin Shah plays a small but extremely impressive role. This movie is about people and not religion. That I guess is the brightest part of the movie.
All things fine, I extremely enjoyed watching this rather lengthy movie. There was one place that I was rather disappointed to watch.
It was this particular scene shot in USA in which the hero tries to explain to an American girl as to where his country is, to which she responds by saying “Oh! So you are India’s neighbor. I love that country…especially the Taj Mahal”. To this, our hero replies by saying that “We built it!!”. I was hoping him to explain that “We” meant Indians and Pakistanis who were once brothers and used to share same nationality and all that brotherly blah blah. To my astonishment he said that it was made by Shah Jahan who was a Muslim like him. I was a bit disappointed because so far the film did not show any sign of propagating “we vs them” ideology. To my total aghast he goes on and proudly says “We ruled India for more thn 1000 years”. I was totally shocked. What a bad logic!! How can he, a Muslim, living in Pakistan, can ever say that “We!!! Ruled India for more than 1000 years”…..? Dude there is one premise that you are missing…Your race came to undivided India and made it your home. We never thought you to be outsider. There has been numerous occasions when even Muslims faught against the Mughals for the pride of their mother land. Ibrahim Gardi fought along with Marathas in an attempt to drive out Mughals from Maharashtra.
It was after the partition that you went in Pakistan and you became ‘you’…before that it was only ‘us’. So how does this “We ruled India……” comes in?
An unfortunate piece in otherwise brilliant film.

(Bangladeshi nationals arrested by the Punjab Police in the Khem Karan sector)

Heard of a country named Bangladesh....most probably you have. It was the same country that made sure that Indian Cricket team did not reach the Super Eight in the World Cup.
Anyway there is more to Bangladesh apart from Cricket.

Do you know that original West Bengali residents of India are a minority community in West Bengal? Also that there are more than 5 crore illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants whose names appear in the Voting List?...and also that Election Commission observer K J Rao was removed on behest of CPI for Election observation in West Bengal when he pointed out that there is large scale rigging going on for the state elections.
There are more than 10 Crore illegal immigrants in India. For a country which has a total population of 100 crores having 10% population as illegal immigrants is quite a feat. Now when country itself faces problems like food crunch and unemployment, why is it that nobody is pointing strongly to the issue?
Jyoti Basu himself being an immigrant has planned his political career on the very premise of illegal immigration. Bangladeshis get their Ration Cards as soon as they enter India very easily. There is no check to confirm the nationality of the person. Bangladeshis even manage to get Government Jobs easily.
I ask, when youth of original India is facing an employment crunch why are Bangladeshis allowed to rip the jobs which were supposed to be for Indians?

Forget Bangladesh. I recently went to Daksh Temple in Rishikesh. To my utter surprise I found the Sadhu beggars speaking Bangla. When I inquired further about them, my uncle told me that these Bangladeshis have encroached vast land areas in Rishikesh and adjoining areas. Every morning they dress up like Sages and do their begging business unchecked. Similarly these Bangladeshi-imported beggars and some time thugs can be found in Bombay, Bokaro or maybe your own city. I ask, are there any less beggars already in India that we had to import them from Bangladesh?

Same is the scenario spread all over India. Its a virus that is going to make India hollow and weak if not checked in time.

To make sure that their Indian honeymoon continues, they vote for CPI every time there is an election. Now that is the plight of India. When everybody in the country knows that there is large scale booth capturing and rigging in WB elections, why not anybody does stands up and protest?

The central Govt does not dare do anything. Their arm is twisted enough to make sure that no finger is raised on them.

Forget about UPA or NDA, Its collective ignorance of the politicians towards the people of our country that we are in these murky waters.

When a country as small as Israel retaliates with force and passion to every single blow it gets from Palestine, why didn’t the Indian govt. do anything when BSF jawans were brutally killed and carried, tied to bamboos in cannibal style.

Imagine the plight of the relatives of the slain Jawan when they saw him dead with his hands and feet tied to the bamboo that was being carried by 2 Bangladeshis.

That image was broadcasted all across the channels. Such is the self respect of India which once gave freedom to Bangladesh. Is India a country without a backbone?

Was it possible if the country in question would have been any other than India??

Well, as the saying goes-It happens only in India.

Yeah, when the country is more cricket crazy that country crazy, these kind of things might well be expected.

It is not being the first time that India has been wronged by its own people. Jaychand, the British supporting Rajas, the war room information leaking generals….and the list goes own.

My heart bleeds for those who ever stand up frustrated and notice all that is going on ,for those who cry for their inability to change anything, for those who know that nothing will ever change.

I remember that when I was a kid, people used to talk that there is a prophecy by Nostradamus that “once there will rise a leader in a country which is surrounded by water from three different sides and one water body being named after the country itself, who will bring the country to the heights of might and power and make it a Super Power”. I loved hearing it again and again as it made my heart beam with pride.

I am still waiting for that prophecy to come true……..

WHAT IS TIMES OF INDIA UPTO?

Well....everyone knows that there is freedom of expression but don't you think that TIMES OF INDIA has taken it just too far?

Everyday in the morning you wake up looking at those hot bods in the last page of Hyderabad Times. Things are even worse (or better! :-)) in Delhi edition. Recently there was a PIL submitted against the newspaper alleging inappropriate printed material for the kids .The PIL lost its case with the judgment stating that Times of India is not a Kids Newspaper(does it ring bells)what idea does that gives?
Sample this: Last week there was an article giving detailed instructions to couples for a perfect Lip Kiss!!Last month there was detailed procedure for men to know which sexual position or act does their girlfriend enjoy the most? Reading it is just like no hold bars, legalized Soft Porn.
I mean come on guys!! What is newspaper for after all???Is it for the news or for titillation???
News for that matter is absolute junk in it. Its "around the world" section is nothing but horny pictures of Hollywood stars. Their news is very absurd and highly irrelevant.
Just today the Front page News of the paper is "Harry Hotter to bare all...(or something like that)" along with Daniel Radcliffe (our very own Harry Potter) Standing nude (thank god that picture was till abdomen only) with a horse. The news was detailed account Daniel Radcliffe doing workout and gym sessions to act in a stage play in which he is going to stand nude wearing nothing but gaudiness. I mean, what relevance does this news has to India or its readers that this news information appeared in the front page of the paper?
Just check out this calendar pic that indiatimes released and Times Of India endorsed. Maybe it’s high time that government intervenes in this matter rather than gathering moolah over censoring movies.

Did you like GURU????Yes, No, somewhat........?Well no doubt Mani made better flicks earlier. Roja and Bombay being my personnel favourites.

Yes Abhishek has performed extremely well.Even Aishvarya looked natural for a change rather than that woody look she had in Dhoom-2.The movie surely lacked that Mani Punch.

HAZARDOUS:Attention everyone! Please don't even dare to watch Salaam-e-ishq.Migraine and nausea gauranteed.Only saving grace is Akshaye Khanna who looks exteremly cool playing an anti-commitment,freedom loving and anti-marriage dude.
